A personal CRM for founders: an example of getting a warm introduction to an investor

This is an example. The people in it are made up, to show how Grapevinee’s features fit together. It is not a member’s story.

Who is Maya?

Maya is an example: a founder raising her company’s first round. She meets people every week, at demo days, dinners and calls, and by the next week she can’t remember who offered to help, or who knows which investor.

How does Maya keep track of the people she meets?

After a conversation she opens Add and says who she met and what they talked about, or scans their business card. Grapevinee fills in the details and she checks them before anything is saved. Her notes are private to her account. She puts investors in a cluster called Investors, set to Only me, so it’s a note to herself that tells nobody anything.

How does Maya stay in touch without a spreadsheet?

She gives each person a rhythm: every 2 weeks for her advisors, every month for angels she’s getting to know. Each grape dims as its rhythm passes, so she sees who’s fading while it’s still easy to reach out, and logging a call, message, meeting or email makes it bright again. There are no streaks and no scores.

How does Maya find a warm path to an investor she hasn’t met?

She searches the investor’s name in Find a path and sees which of her connections can introduce her: friends of friends, except anyone who has turned off being found. It’s a Pro feature (pricing).

Maya asks her friend Daniel for the introduction, with a line about why. her friend Daniel decides first: the investor sees the request only after her friend Daniel approves it, and then the investor decides. A shared conversation opens only when everyone has said yes, and if someone says no, nobody is told who. Introductions happen between Grapevinee members.

What doesn’t Grapevinee do for Maya?

It doesn’t contact anyone she adds, and it never sends an introduction without each person’s yes. There’s no pipeline and no deal stages: it keeps track of people, not deals. Nothing here promises a meeting; the people involved decide.

Can I do what Maya does?

Yes. Create an account, add the people you already know, and connect with a few friends using your link or QR code. Find a path is part of Pro. The help page answers the rest.
